  My second complete golf game:

Two days prior to my 13th birthday, I played my second round of golf at The Lutz Executive Golf Center on April 20, 2004. This time, while Doug and I played, my mom (Marsha) walked with us and helped me tee up my ball and hand me clubs when I needed them (just like a caddy)! It only took us 2 hours to play the round this time. I did better on some holes and worse on others. Overall, my score was a 68, 3 strokes higher than last week. Doug played very well, scoring 5 strokes less than last week for a total of 33.

Doug had a great game. On the 2nd hole, pictured to the left, Doug's 1st shot landed only 8 feet from the hole!

Doug got a "par" (3 strokes) on 6 of the 9 holes and scored a 4, 5, and 6 on the other 3 holes for a total of 33 on the par 27 course.

For me, I got a four 6's, and a 4, and a 7, and the other 3 holes I won't mention.

Here we are at the Marsh hole, Marsha and I.

My mom (Marsha) hit her first golf ball off the tee of the Marsh hole. It landed in the fairway! She was pleased with her one and only hit, and she watched us the rest of the way.

The Marsh hole is the longest and hardest hole on the course. If you hit just a little to the right of the fairway, you will land in the mushy grass or water pictured behind Doug and I.

I had my best hole ever on number 8. I used my 5 wood again and hit 85 yards right on the green. I took 3 putts to place the ball in the hole, for a total of 4 on the hole. My best score for a hole!

3rd Complete Golf Game: On April 27, 2004, I played for the 3rd time and I played my best game thus far. My score was a 63 and Doug's was a 37. I got a 4 on hole #8 again, and I got a 5 on three other holes. Not bad! I even hit the ball over the water on my first shot on "The Falls" hole #7. We finished the course in only an hour and 30 minutes, walking the entire way. Click the small score card on the right to see a detailed analysis of this round.

4th Complete Golf Game: On May 4, 2004, I played for the 4th time and I played my best game thus far. My score was a 50 and Doug's was a 29. I felt great about my game and my score!  I started out great with two 5's and a 4. The Marsh hole was still my hardest hole, but even on that, I got an 8. All the other holes I got a 6 or less. Unbelievable! Click the small score card on the right to see a detailed analysis of this round.

5th Complete Golf Game: On May 12, 2004, I played for the 5th time and I played a great game. My score was a 51 and Doug's was a 32. I started out great with a 4, just like Doug. I hit my longest hit ever on hole #3, 120 yards with my driver. I got a 6 on the Marsh hole #5, my best for this hole! I got my first par 3 on the Falls hole #7. I hit it over the water onto the green on my 1st shot.  My mom was my caddie and Doug's mom was his caddie. Click the small score card on the right to see a detailed analysis of this round.

6th Complete Golf Game: On May 18, 2004, I played for the 6th time and I played a good game. My score was a 52 and Doug's was a 32. I was just one stroke worse than last time, but Doug says I've played good consistent games for the past 3 times. I did have some good holes.

7th Complete Golf Game: On May 28, 2004, I played for the 7th time and I played an average game. Doug had the best game of his life with a 29. He had 7 pars and 2 bogies. My score was a 57. I had a few really good shots, but I missed quite a few putts that were inches away from the cup. On the 4th hole, I hit the ball 100 yards in the air and landed it on the green with my 3 wood! I plan to get even better during my trip to Alabama this summer.

??th Complete Golf Game: On May 20, 2005, I played a good game with a score of 50, but I lost track of how many games I have played now. I had the best hole of my life: My first hit on the first hole came within 1 1/2 feet of the hole!!! I almost had a hole-in-one. I made the putt for my first career birdie. Doug made a nice putt on the first hole for a birdie also. He had the best 9-holes of his life. He made par on the remaining 8 holes to end up with a total of 26 (one under par!!). Maybe his success was partly due to his new King Cobra irons that he received as a gift from my Uncle David; or maybe it was because we played with Josh, a co-worker of Doug's from Verizon. Doug says Josh has great potential. He played well, scoring 39.

On our 5th outing, Doug and I had our mothers as our caddies, in celebration of Mother's Day.

I used my driver (#1 wood) and hit my longest shot ever--120 yards, straight over the center of the green to lie just a few yards past the green on hole #3.

Doug had his best "first shot" on hole #6 where he was within 5 and a half feet of the hole after his tee shot. Unfortunately, he missed a birdie by inches, but he was happy with a par.

After struggling on the Marsh hole in my first 4 games (rounds), on this 5th round, I was able to pitch the ball onto the green on my third shot (shown here) and got a fantastic "6" on the hardest hole.

Using my 5 wood and placing the ball really high on the tee, I was able to hit a the ball high over the water hazard and land it on the green!

Both Doug and I got a par 3 on the Falls (hole #7). It was my best hole ever and my first hole that I ever got a par!

May 20, 2005 will be a day to remember for a long time. I got a real birdie! I missed a hole-in-one by a foot and a half. Doug also got a birdie and pared all the other holes, ending up with his best game of his life (one under par for 9 holes). Maybe his success was partly due to his new King Cobra irons that he received as a gift from my Uncle David.
